Heim Datacenter, a Nordic operator launched earlier this year, has secured an undisclosed investment from Omnes Capital to fund three campuses totalling 580MW at full build-out by 2030.
The companies announced the partnership this month. Omnes Capital's Digital Infrastructure team led the deal for its CEP2 fund. Neither party disclosed the investment size. The capital will support, in the companies' words, the "continued development of Heim's team and organization" and advance its project pipeline.
Heim intends to start in Finland and then expand across the Nordics and wider Europe. Its website lists three facilities: Sweden West, Finland West, and Finland Capital.
Who is building the platform?
Two former Green Mountain CEOs founded the company. Kristian Gyland led Green Mountain from 2017 until 2023 and set up Heim. Svein Atle Hagaseth ran Green Mountain from 2023 to 2026 and serves as Heim's co-founder and CEO.
Hagaseth framed the deal as a values-driven choice: "From the beginning, we wanted Heim to be a company we could be proud of, both for what we build and how we treat people. Choosing our investment partner had to reflect that. In Omnes, we found people who share our values and our direction."
He added: "They felt like part of the Heim family from our first conversations. That gives us a strong foundation as we build for the next decade and stay true to the reasons we started Heim."
What capacity does each campus deliver?
The three sites carry distinct capacity and timeline commitments:
- Sweden West: first phase of 30MW, scaling to 300MW in 2029 across 200,000 sqm (2.15 million sq ft)
- Finland West: initial 100MW, reaching 130MW by 2028 across 100,000 sqm (1 million sq ft)
- Finland Capital: initial 50MW, scaling to 150MW by 2030 across 140,000 sqm (1.5 million sq ft)
Combined, the pipeline reaches 580MW at full capacity, with delivery dates running from 2028 to 2030. The Swedish campus accounts for more than half of the total.
What does Omnes bring to the deal?
Omnes Capital, founded in 1999, is a European investor in infrastructure and private equity with €6.7 billion in assets under management. Its portfolios span energy transition infrastructure, digital infrastructure, venture capital and growth, and co-investment strategies.
Caroline Yametti, partner for digital infrastructure at Omnes Capital, said: "Heim brings together an exceptional leadership team with a proven ability to develop, build and operate data center infrastructure at scale. Their experience, deep understanding of the Nordic market and long-term approach to building the business make them an ideal partner for Omnes."
Yametti set a clear ambition for the partnership: "Together, we aim to develop a leading European platform that responds to growing demand for energy-efficient digital infrastructure meeting the highest operational and technical standards in the industry."
Why the Nordics, why now?
The deal pairs an experienced Nordic management team with a €6.7 billion investor targeting digital infrastructure. Heim's founders bring nine years of combined CEO tenure at Green Mountain, and Omnes supplies the balance sheet to fund a 580MW pipeline through 2030.
One undisclosed cheque now underwrites three campuses and a decade-long build plan.
