Vertiv's shares climbed roughly 14 percent after the data center power and cooling company beat Wall Street expectations for Q3 2026 and disclosed that orders have doubled year over year. The rally recovers most of an October dip driven by wider uncertainty about the AI data center market. The stock still trades below its May high, but it's up 35 percent year to date.

What did the numbers show?

Net sales hit $4.31 billion in the third quarter, a 61 percent jump from the same period a year earlier. To put that in perspective: Vertiv added roughly $1.6 billion of quarterly revenue in twelve months.

Adjusted earnings per share rose 78 percent to $2.21. On the back of those results, the company lifted its full-year 2026 net sales guidance to a range of $14.45 billion to $14.85 billion, up from the prior $13.8 billion to $14.2 billion. At the midpoint, that's about $650 million of extra expected revenue.

Where is the growth coming from?

The regional split shows the Americas carrying the buildout:

  • Americas: sales grew 75 percent to $3 billion — roughly 70 percent of total revenue
  • Asia Pacific: sales rose 50 percent to $779.3 million
  • EMEA: sales grew 23 percent to $544.7 million

The regional gap matters for practitioners watching supply chains. A 75 percent growth rate in the Americas means Vertiv is scaling manufacturing, delivery and service capacity fastest exactly where most AI capex is landing — and where lead times for cooling and power gear have been tightest.

What did the CEO say?

CEO Giordano Albertazzi framed the results as part of a structural shift, not a cyclical bump. "We are in the middle of the largest infrastructure buildout, and it's accelerating," he said.

He also pointed to faster product cycles as a competitive edge: "We're compressing new product development cycles from years to months. We're industrializing converged infrastructure at a scale that didn't exist before and strengthening competencies that are very hard to replicate. We are expanding capacity, improving productivity, and executing with rigor. The infrastructure we deliver performs at the highest levels of reliability."

For operators and engineers, that compression claim is the operative one. If converged infrastructure products move from multi-year to multi-month development, refresh cycles and design assumptions for new facilities may shift accordingly.

What else changed this week?

Vertiv also closed its acquisition of King Environmental Services (KES), a data center fluid management firm. The deal was first announced in September. The closure folds liquid-handling capability into Vertiv's portfolio just as liquid cooling moves from niche to mainstream in high-density AI racks.

Why does the stock move matter?

The 14 percent single-day gain signals that October's AI-infrastructure jitters weren't rooted in Vertiv's own demand picture — orders doubling year over year contradicts a slowdown narrative. The stock remains below its May high, so the market is still pricing in some risk. But a raised outlook and a 61 percent top-line growth rate give the AI buildout thesis its strongest data point this quarter.
