Nvidia-backed inference provider Fireworks has signed a $94.4 million, 36-month reservation of Nvidia B300 GPU capacity in Dallas — the first contracted customer commitment for Forum Edge AI, the joint venture between Forum Markets and Edge Node Inc.
Forum Markets, the Nasdaq-listed investment firm behind the JV, announced the definitive agreement this week. The GPUs are expected to go live at Forum Edge's existing, powered Dallas facility in late December or early January.
For context on the scale: $94.4 million over 36 months works out to roughly $26 million a year for the lease — a serious anchor tenant for a data center that currently offers just 2MW of capacity.
What does the deal change for Forum Edge?
It turns a newly formed JV into a revenue-generating business almost overnight. Forum Markets and Edge Node announced their partnership only earlier this month, and this contract is the first one Forum Edge has executed against.
CEO McAndrew Rudisill framed the deal as validation of the firm's approach: "This agreement is an important proof point for our AI infrastructure strategy and reflects our focus on bringing revenue-generating GPUs to market quickly in a modular manner."
He added: "We have a strong partnership with Fireworks and are excited about our growth trajectory as we scale our AI infrastructure business. This is the first finalized contract Forum Edge is executing against and the first of several exciting partnerships we expect to deploy into our unique footprint."
That "several partnerships" line suggests the JV is negotiating additional tenants — worth watching if you're tracking GPU capacity demand in secondary markets like Dallas and High Point.
Who is Fireworks and why does it need the capacity?
Founded in 2022, Fireworks provides inference, training, and routing services that help enterprises deploy and scale generative AI applications in production. Its most recent valuation sits at approximately $17.5 billion, with backers including Nvidia, Atreides Management, Index Ventures, and TCV.
The company's model is straightforward: it rents GPU servers from other sources and sells access to open-source AI models, competing with the likes of Together AI and Baseten. Its supplier list already includes Oracle, which revealed last year that Fireworks AI is among its customers, and Voltage Park. According to its website, Fireworks operates across 30 global regions spanning Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific.
The Dallas deal adds another supply leg — and B300 silicon, Nvidia's latest inference-focused GPU, is capacity that inference providers can't easily get elsewhere on short notice.
What's in the Forum Edge portfolio?
The JV's initial portfolio, announced earlier this month, consists of:
- 2MW of a 4MW data center in Dallas
- A 9MW data center campus in High Point, North Carolina
- One initial mobile communications tower site of 1-2MW
Full details haven't been shared, but the Dallas facility currently offers 2MW, operated by Edge Node AI. Another 2MW is coming later this year or early next year and is allocated to the joint venture — effectively doubling the capacity the Fireworks deal anchors.
A crypto pivot in disguise?
The parent companies' backgrounds are worth noting. Forum Markets is an asset manager previously focused on the "tokenization of institutional-grade real-world assets on Ethereum." Today it describes itself as investing in cash-generating assets across AI infrastructure, commercial aerospace, manufactured housing finance, and auto credit — a broad portfolio, with GPUs as the newest leg.
Edge Node Inc., founded last year and also Texas-based, is a 'Tokens-as-a-Service' provider aiming to offer low-latency compute and inference services and access to LLMs in the US. The company has yet to launch its services, which makes the Fireworks contract the JV's first tangible operational milestone.
For practitioners, the takeaway is simple: inference demand is pulling GPU capacity into small, fast-to-market facilities, and financial firms with unusual pedigrees are moving quickly to supply it.
