Crusoe has filed for two data center buildings in Jayton, Texas, with a combined investment of $4.8bn. Two filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation list an unspecified address along Country Road 233 and P2390 in Jayton, Kent County.
Each building will span 759,260 sq ft (70,540 sqm). Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of January 2027, with the two buildings expected to go live in May and July 2029.
Jayton sits south of Childress and north of Abilene, where Crusoe is also developing capacity. The filings describe the buildings as "spur buildings" of Project Hyper, indicating the campus will likely operate as a satellite of Crusoe's Childress development.
Crusoe filed plans for Project Hyper in September. The project occupies 525 B CO RD 23 in Childress and comprises three data center buildings of 806,360 sq ft (75,100 sqm) each. Crusoe expects to invest roughly $2.4bn in each building, which would bring total Project Hyper investment across both sites to $12 billion.
Construction on two of the Childress buildings has already begun. Work on the third is expected to start this month. All three buildings target completion in the first half of 2028.
Crusoe announced in July 2026 that it is working with Lancium on a 1.4GW data center campus in Childress. The grid-connected campus covers 270 acres owned by Lancium, which will also develop and manage the site's energy infrastructure. Plans call for behind-the-meter solar and energy storage resources on the site.
The data centers will use a closed-loop cooling system to reduce water consumption. Previous reports indicate Meta is set to lease capacity in Childress from Crusoe. The project sits adjacent to Iren's Childress campus, which is leased to Microsoft.
Elsewhere in Texas, Crusoe is developing a campus for Google in Armstrong County and is behind the Abilene site used by OpenAI. Further capacity at the Abilene campus is set to be leased to Microsoft.
