Spec summary
- CoreWeave announced October 6 it will lease 240MW of capacity in Navi Mumbai from AdaniConneX
- The deployment spans three 80MW buildings at the Taloja campus, with first phase due mid-2028
- CoreWeave holds an option to double capacity, bringing the campus total to a potential 580MW
- CoreWeave had 4.2GW of contracted power as of August 2026
- AdaniConneX, a JV of Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX formed in February 2021, originally targeted 1GW across India; Adani now targets 5GW
CoreWeave will lease 240MW of data center capacity in Navi Mumbai from AdaniConneX, marking the neocloud's entry into the Indian market. The announcement came October 6.
The deployment spans three 80MW buildings at AdaniConneX's Taloja campus, where CoreWeave plans to install Nvidia Vera Rubin systems. CoreWeave will be the sole tenant across all three buildings.
The deal includes an option to double capacity at the campus, which would bring the potential total to 580MW. CoreWeave will also open a local office in India and hire local staff.
"India has the talent, developers, and ambition to become a major center of AI innovation," said Sachin Jain, COO of CoreWeave. "We are investing in the infrastructure, technology, and local presence needed to support that growth, bringing 240MW of capacity, Nvidia Vera Rubin, and CoreWeave's expertise to customers building and scaling AI in India."
What will the Taloja campus deliver?
AdaniConneX is designing the Taloja site for high-density AI infrastructure. The facility will feature direct liquid cooling alongside a non-evaporative chilled water system.
The first phase is expected to come online in mid-2028. Additional capacity will be delivered in phases thereafter.
The cooling design choices matter for the workload profile. Nvidia's Vera Rubin racks push power density well beyond what air-cooled halls can support, and CoreWeave recently confirmed it now offers the Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 systems on its cloud platform. Taloja's liquid-cooling specification aligns the site with that hardware generation from day one.
How does the deal fit CoreWeave's expansion?
As of August 2026, CoreWeave held 4.2GW of contracted power. The company is expanding across the US, Europe, and Asia, and recently announced its entry into Indonesia. India becomes the latest market in that sequence.
For AdaniConneX, the agreement anchors a flagship campus with a single hyperscale tenant. The joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX was first announced in February 2021, with an initial target of delivering 1GW of hyperscale data center capacity across India. The JV has projects in Chennai, Noida, Vizag, Hyderabad, Pune, and Mumbai.
Earlier this year, Adani raised its ambitions, targeting 5GW of data center capacity in India.
What are the key numbers?
- 240MW: leased capacity across three 80MW buildings at Taloja
- 580MW: potential total if CoreWeave exercises its option to double
- Mid-2028: expected availability of the first phase
- 4.2GW: CoreWeave's contracted power as of August 2026
- 1GW: AdaniConneX's original 2021 capacity target; Adani now aims for 5GW
The 2028 first-phase timeline places India capacity delivery behind CoreWeave's more mature US and European regions, but the sole-tenant structure and expansion option give the company a dedicated growth path in a market where it currently has no footprint.
