Spec summary

  1. Applied Digital energized 75MW of critical IT load in the second phase of Building 2 at Polaris Forge 1, Ellendale, North Dakota.
  2. Building 2 totals 150MW and the campus now stands at 250MW, with 400MW planned at full build-out, all leased to CoreWeave.
  3. Applied Digital's contracted portfolio spans five AI Factory campuses totaling 1.4GW of critical IT load and about 2.15GW of utility power.
  4. Construction at Polaris Forge 1 began in September 2022; Building 2 phase one went live in July and Building 1 phase one completed in December 2025.
  5. The company still runs two cryptomining sites in North Dakota totaling some 286MW and recently spun off its ChronoScale cloud unit.

Applied Digital has brought 75MW of additional critical IT load online at its Ellendale, North Dakota campus, completing Building 2 and pushing the CoreWeave-leased Polaris Forge 1 site to 250MW of total capacity.

The company declared ready-for-service status for the second phase of Building 2, delivered across three 25MW data halls. The 150MW building is now complete. The campus will reach 400MW of IT capacity at full build-out, and all of that capacity is leased to CoreWeave.

Construction at Polaris Forge 1 began in September 2022 as part of Applied Digital's crypto and HPC business. The first phase of Building 2 went live in July. The first phase of Building 1 was completed in December 2025.

What does the milestone mean for Applied Digital?

CEO and chairman Wes Cummins framed the delivery as proof of the company's execution capability beyond power procurement. He said: "Bringing another 75MW of AI infrastructure online at Polaris Forge 1 further demonstrates our ability to turn large-scale power into operational AI infrastructure."

Cummins added: "Securing power is only the starting point. The real work is designing, building, commissioning, and operating the infrastructure that transforms those megawatts into usable capacity for customers. That is the capability we continue to scale across our platform."

Founded in 2021 as Applied Blockchain, the Nasdaq-listed company is pivoting toward AI and HPC data center development and has signed multiple large-scale deals with hyperscale customers.

How large is the contracted portfolio?

Applied Digital's contracted portfolio now covers a set of concrete commitments:

  • Five AI Factory campuses totaling 1.4GW of critical IT load
  • Approximately 2.15GW of grid-connected utility power
  • Pre-leased capacity across several sites with unnamed hyperscalers

The pipeline extends well beyond Ellendale:

  • Polaris Forge 2, in Harwood, North Dakota — much of the site is set to be leased to an unnamed "investment-grade hyperscaler"
  • Polaris Forge 3 — 430MW, leased to an unnamed hyperscaler; full details have not been disclosed
  • Delta Forge 1, outside Alexandria, Louisiana — 430MW, pre-leased to a US-based "high investment-grade hyperscaler"
  • Delta Forge 2, near Brookwood, Alabama

What remains of the legacy crypto business?

Applied Digital still operates two cryptomining sites in Jamestown and Ellendale, North Dakota, totaling some 286MW. The company recently spun off its ChronoScale cloud unit as it concentrates capital and management attention on AI infrastructure.

The Ellendale delivery gives Applied Digital a second fully completed building at its flagship campus and a reference point for the remaining 150MW needed to reach the site's 400MW design capacity. With 1.4GW contracted across five campuses and roughly 2.15GW of utility power secured, the company's next execution test lies at Polaris Forge 2, Polaris Forge 3, and the two Delta Forge sites in Louisiana and Alabama.
