GMI Cloud has raised $668 million, combining a $223 million Series B equity round led by ARCHIV with a $445 million credit facility led by CTBC.
The Taiwanese neocloud announced the funding today. Equity participants include Nvidia, DSC Investment, Trend Micro, KB Investment, Kyobo Life, and KT Corporation.
GMI will direct the capital toward capacity expansion in the US, Taiwan, and the wider APAC region, development of its inference services, and future hiring.
"Our customers are scaling faster than ever, and they need infrastructure that keeps pace," said Alex Yeh, founder and CEO of GMI Cloud. "AI is driving a new renaissance, and reliable compute is its foundation. Our goal is to build that foundation across continents, with an ecosystem of products on top of it."
How does the new money fit GMI's buildout plans?
The raise follows reports from a few months ago that GMI was seeking up to $635 million in loans backed by its customer contracts. That earlier debt push targeted the company's AI factory project in Taoyuan, Taiwan, specifically.
GMI announced in November 2025 that it would build a $500 million data center in Taoyuan. The facility is designed to deploy around 7,000 Nvidia GB300 GPUs across 96 racks and deliver roughly 16MW of power capacity. Vantage Data Centers will house the cluster.
The Taoyuan project is one piece of a broader footprint. Founded in 2023, GMI operates data centers in the US, elsewhere in Taiwan, and in Singapore, Thailand, and Japan.
Recent milestones include:
- A $12 billion sovereign AI infrastructure initiative launched in Japan in March of this year
- A partnership with Magna AI on a global network of "sovereign AI factories"
- An $82 million Series A round secured in November 2024
Who uses GMI's infrastructure?
The company's customer list spans AI application and model developers: Fireworks, Higgsfield, Nous Research, OpenRouter, Reflection, Cartesia, Trend Micro, and Utopai Studios.
Notably, Trend Micro appears on both the customer list and the Series B investor roster, a sign that at least one major customer is deepening its financial stake in the supplier's growth.
The $668 million total puts GMI's disclosed funding well past the $1 billion mark when combined with the $82 million Series A and the scale of its sovereign infrastructure commitments in Japan.
