European neocloud startup Verda has raised $189 million in a Series B round led by Emergence Capital, bringing the company's total funding to more than $450 million. The round sets the Helsinki-founded operator on a path to exceed 250MW of operational capacity by 2027.
The Series B included participation from MUFG Innovation Partners, Supermicro, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Lifeline Ventures, ENDUR, 6 Degrees Capital (6DC), byFounders, and Tesi (Finnish Industry Investment Ltd). A group of angel investors also joined, among them Ola Tørudbakken and Mark Saroufim. Verda announced the figures in a company blog post.
The round follows a $117 million raise in April 2026. Before that, the company secured $64.6 million in a Series A in September 2025 and $13 million in an October 2024 seed round.
Where will the capital go?
Verda says the new capital will fund additional data center capacity coming online as well as "deeper investment in the platform." The company currently operates data centers in Finland, all running on 100 percent renewable energy, plus one site in Reykjanesbær, Iceland.
Further sites are planned across Europe, the UK, the US, and Asia. In September, Verda detailed plans for a data center project in the Hanhela area of Pyhäjoki municipality in Finland. At the time of its Series A, it also flagged plans for an AI data center in Latvia.
Founder and CEO Ruben Bryon framed the raise as a time-critical opportunity. "There's a window right now to build one of the defining compute companies of this generation, and to do so from Europe. It won't be open for long," Bryon said.
What hardware and platform work is next?
On the hardware side, Verda plans to deploy Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 systems in the coming months. In April 2026, the company said it would offer customers access to Arm's AGI CPU, developed in conjunction with Meta. That processor would run alongside Nvidia GB300 racks.
The AGI CPU is built on TSMC's 3nm process node and comprises 136 Arm Neoverse V3 cores running at up to 3.7GHz.
On the platform side, Verda states it is "on the path to release S3-compatible Object Storage," which would extend its managed infrastructure portfolio beyond raw GPU capacity.
How did Verda get here?
Founded in 2020 and formerly known as DataCrunch, Verda has scaled from a $13 million seed round in October 2024 to more than $450 million in total funding in under two years. Its trajectory tracks the broader surge in demand for AI compute infrastructure in Europe, where neocloud operators compete to lock in power capacity and next-generation silicon.
The 250MW operational target for 2027 represents the company's most aggressive capacity commitment to date, spanning its existing Nordic footprint and the planned expansion regions across three continents.
