Micron Sets $61.5B Q1 Revenue Guide, Lifts US Capex Past $250B

Micron forecast Q1 revenue of $61.5B against the $57.02B consensus, with adjusted EPS guidance of $38.15. The Boise chipmaker raised US capex to over $250B through 2035 as HBM orders exceeded capacity.

Spec summary

  1. Q1 revenue guidance: $61.5B ±$1.5B vs. $57.02B analyst consensus (LSEG)
  2. Q1 adjusted EPS guidance: $38.15 ±$1 vs. $35.40 estimate
  3. Q4 revenue $54.23B vs. $51.07B consensus; Q4 adjusted EPS $33.42 vs. $31.61
  4. Planned U.S. investments raised to over $250B through 2035
  5. Amazon, Alphabet and other tech giants set to spend over $730B on AI infrastructure in 2026

Micron Technology forecast first-quarter revenue of $61.5 billion plus or minus $1.5 billion on September 30, 2026, beating the $57.02 billion analyst consensus compiled by LSEG. The company projected adjusted profit of $38.15 per share, plus or minus $1, clearing the $35.40 estimate.

Shares of the Boise, Idaho-based memory maker climbed more than 1% in extended trading. The stock has more than tripled year-to-date. The top-line guide runs roughly 8% above Street consensus, and the EPS line beats by a comparable margin.

Fourth-quarter results, released the same day, more than quadrupled revenue year over year to $54.23 billion, ahead of the $51.07 billion consensus. Adjusted profit reached $33.42 per share, exceeding the $31.61 estimate.

What's behind the guidance?

High-bandwidth memory (HBM) has become essential to generative-AI data centers. Micron, a key supplier to Nvidia — whose processors dominate advanced computing workflows — sits at the bottleneck of that build cycle. The generative-AI boom has turned HBM into a non-substitutable input rather than a commodity line, the company told analysts.

The AI memory expansion has also tightened supply and pushed prices higher across the broader semiconductor market. The company added that the conventional DRAM and NAND cycle is firming in parallel.

How tight is capacity?

Micron is the only major U.S.-based HBM chipmaker. Orders far exceed installed capacity, the company said, though specific utilization or yield figures were not disclosed in the release. Allocation, not pricing, has become the principal commercial question for buyers through 2026 and into 2027.

What does the $250 billion envelope cover?

Micron raised its planned U.S. investments to more than $250 billion through 2035. Spending will skew toward the back half of the window, as new fab capacity comes online in stages.

Hyperscaler capex provides the demand backdrop. Amazon, Alphabet, and other tech giants are set to spend more than $730 billion on AI infrastructure in 2026. That envelope translates downstream into orders for memory, networking, and accelerator silicon.

Should this reset doubts about the AI cycle?

Bob O'Donnell, chief analyst at TECHnalysis Research, framed the print as decisive. "Micron's complete blowout earnings and forecast should put the nail in the coffin of the ongoing doubters about the resiliency of the AI buildout," O'Donnell said.

The framing reflects how the quarter has been received across the chip complex: peer DRAM and NAND suppliers face similar constraints, with the AI memory boom tightening conventional chip supplies across the broader semiconductor market. Micron remains the only U.S.-domiciled source of advanced HBM.

What's the read-through for the supply chain?

Three operating points stand out:

  • HBM remains the gating component for AI accelerator deployments.
  • Conventional DRAM and NAND pricing is firming alongside HBM.
  • Domestic capacity expansion extends through the second half of the decade.

What's next on the calendar?

Micron's fiscal Q1 closes in late November 2026. Q2 results follow in late December. The next inflections to watch: capacity-add milestones, order-book coverage disclosures, and forward commentary on HBM pricing as 2027 allocations open.
